STROKE – STRIDE – PEDAL – PARTY
June 2 and October 6, 2019
CANOE (6 MILES):
The first event of the Triathlon is a six mile canoe race down the Little Miami River. Six teams will exit every 2 minutes from Morgan’s Livery starting at (8:00am Spring // 9:00am Fall) and ending at Morgan’s Morrow Beach, 75 yards on right below the second bridge you go under. There is some mild white water along this scenic and fun river. A life jacket is required and provided for by Morgan’s livery during the canoe portion of the event. At the end of the canoeing segment canoeists must pull canoes out of the water past the flags. Canoeists are also responsible for putting paddles and life jackets in the designated areas. Those who fail to put canoeing equipment in specified areas will be disqualified. Open division teams must use their own canoes. Open category participants should drop their canoes off at the livery before proceeding to the Memorial. All other divisions must use the canoes, paddles, and life jackets provided by Morgan’s Livery. No special gear giving teams unfair advantage is allowed.
1/2 TRIATHLON CANOE (3 MILES) – Canoe to our Riverside Campground. The course will be clearly marked.
RUNNING (5.5 MILES):
Follow Morrow Millgrove Road North approximately three miles. Cross bridge at Strout Road, go left on Senior Road about 7/10 mile to abandoned Penn Central railroad bed. Turn right on trail. Follow trail and finish at top of Killer Hill marked North Lookout Trail. Check in, drink some fluids and begin the bicycling portion of event. Ample fluids will be provided during running and bicycling events.
1/2 TRIATHLON RUN (3 MILES) – You will pick up the same running route as the full Triathlon at Strout Road where the bridge crosses the river. The course will be clearly marked.
BICYCLE (18 MILES):
Ride on the right side of the road at all times. Traffic cannot be stopped. It is up to each bicyclist to yield at all times. Exit in front of the museum, take a left on Middleboro Road, right on Warren County Road #7, The biking section of the Little Miami Triathlon left on Olive Branch Road. Follow across I-71, then right on Jeffery Road, take another right on Oregonia Road. Oregonia to a right on Clarksville Road to a right on Wilmington Road. This is a caution spot, slow down your speed! Take a left on Ward-Koebel Road and follow to right at State Route 350 to second entrance on the left. HELMETS ARE REQUIRED! Any bicyclist without protective headgear will be disqualified.
1/2 TRIATHLON BICYCLE (9 MILES) – The course will be a shortened version of the existing course and will be clearly marked
PICNIC and CELEBRATION: Music, food and beverages will be provided to participants only after the event at Fort Ancient State Park. Families are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy the festivities.
